Weather Underground Introduces Game Day Weather Feature for Sports Fans
SAN FRANCISCO, October 29, 2007 - Weather Underground, the nation's first online provider of weather related content, today announced the availability of its new game day sports weather feature via www.wunderground.com/sports/. The new sports weather feature provides forecasts for college football, professional football, and professional baseball games. The new service is the ultimate game day tool that provides an index of the week's upcoming sporting events and weather forecasts for each game.
The easy-to-use sports weather tool can be accessed from the sports link on the main page of www.wunderground.com. Users simply select the sport and the desired game. The current sports weather index lists all games scheduled for the week and each page lists temperature, wind, chance of rain, and visibility in one-hour increments leading up to and during the event. As an added bonus, there is a local radar display, a map of the area, and an aerial photo of the venue.
"Weather is an integral part of outdoor sporting events," said Alan Steremberg, president and co-founder of Weather Underground. "In response to the growing demand of visitors looking for sports related weather content, we created a unique feature to provide game day weather information."
In addition to the new sports index feature, Weather Underground currently offers a comprehensive suite of weather related services, including the recently announced streaming weather radio feature, personal WebCams, Wunder Photos, and the Personal Weather Station (PWS) network, which allows users to link their home-based automated weather stations to the Weather Underground community. Thousands of station owners already participate in the Weather Underground worldwide network, allowing the company to provide accurate and up-to-the-minute weather information.
