	77 degrees at 11AM in November? WOW!

Well... Here we are November 3rd, 2009. But you wouldn't know it to look out the window!

Skies are bright a sunny with an outside air temp of 77 degrees! While I like a beautiful day as much as the next guy, I can't help feel somewhat guilty in enjoying it considering that we should be having overcast and rain this time of the year!

Looking at the mid-pacific satellite image, that high pressure bubble is having a VERY OBVIOUS effect on the storm track.

This of course raises concerns that the El Nino predictions for a wetter than normal winter around these parts may be wrong. However, Ken Clark over at Accuweather posted an interesting commentary about this yesterday on his blog. Check it out:

They are saying now in the latest southern Sierra forecast that we "might" see some rain towards the end of this week, but you would never know it to look at my webcam view right now!

Good thing we got almost 7.5 inches of rain in October from that one 36 hour storm! ;o)

Well enjoy the peaceful, quiet weather while it lasts, because those Pacific Storms will start rolling in soon!

All I can say to that is... "BRING IT ON!" lol! ;o) We have had enough SUMMER thank you very much. We dodged a bullet in terms of local wildfires this season, but if we don't get some decent rains this winter, things are going to get very scary around here come the summer of 2010. :o( Thanks for your comment! Thanks WeatherGoose for sharing that interesting piece on whether or not the current conditions indicate that the forecasted El Nino is still on track. It is certainly delightful weather to admire the fall foliage, but the plants are getting mighty thirsty and it is time for some more rain!
