So last night we got POUNDED. Maybe 80 mph winds. Slamming my windows. Making me wonder if they may break. Not sure of that wind speed.
TODAY, I wanted to know. My landlord had been busy at work, so he was unable to install my weather station. After last night, I wanted to know what was happening. Weather was supposed to continue. For the next few days.
Today I talked to the landlord, and he agreed to let me set it up temporarily. He had a piece of pipe to mount the unit on top of. I went and got it, about 8 feet tall. I mounted the unit, then took it out and tied it up to man old trailer he had in the back yard. I used rope, as well as wrapping tape. I put some rocks at the base to keep it steady. Last night was STRONG... maybe 80 mph. Who knows?
THAT is why I got this unit. Now I WILL know.
It is NOW HOOKED UP. Data coming in. Today the high wind was 44 mph. Just a freshening zephyr. Tonight is calm, 4 mph. 33 degrees, and 6/10 inch of precipitation.
Right now it is SNOWING. Big wet flakes. Tomorrow could be interesting.
Or not.
